# Live Annotations

> Draw on the slide that's up, and every screen shows the ink as you draw it.

Circle a word, underline a verse, sketch a map. With Apple Pencil, a finger or the pointer, every line appears on the screens as you draw it.

## Draw

**1. Tap the pencil**

It's over the preview while a slide is up.

**2. Draw on the preview**

Choose a colour, and **Pen** for writing or **Marker** for underlining. While you draw, a tap or swipe on the preview draws rather than changing the slide.

**3. Click Done**

Or press **Escape**.

**Undo** takes back the last line. **Clear** takes off everything drawn since you started.

## Kept with the slide

When you finish, or move to another slide, your lines stay on the slide they were drawn on, as an **Annotations** layer. They're the strokes themselves, not a picture of them, so they stay sharp at any size and can be edited like any other layer.

To take them off, use **Clear Annotations** beside the pencil. It can be undone.
