# The running order

> Libraries, playlists, presentations and slides — moving through a service, and everything a right-click can do.

## Libraries and playlists

* A **library** keeps presentations: every song you know, every sermon you've given. Make as many as you like, and folders to keep them in.
* A **playlist** is a service: presentations in the order they'll happen. A presentation can be in many playlists and is still one presentation — fix a typo once and it's fixed in every service.

Choose a playlist in the sidebar and the slides show every presentation in it, one after another. Give a presentation in a playlist a colour from its right-click menu to find it at a glance.

## Moving through a service

| **Click a slide** | Puts it up (in Play). |
| **→ ←** | Next and previous slide, on into the next presentation at the end of one. |
| **↑ ↓** | Next and previous presentation in the playlist. |
| **A hot key** | A single character that brings one slide up from anywhere. |
| **Search** | Find a song or passage and put it up without leaving the service. See [Search](https://docs.slipity.com/importing/search.md). |

Slides that are **disabled** are passed over. A slide with **Go to Next Timer** moves on by itself.

## Picking several slides

**Shift**-click picks a run, **Command**-click adds or removes one, and dragging across empty space picks everything the band touches. On iPad and iPhone, hold one slide and tap others. Picked slides are outlined in blue, and nothing goes up while you pick.

## Right-click a slide

On iPad and iPhone, touch and hold. The menu acts on the slide you clicked, or on every picked slide when that slide is one of them. While the menu is open, the slides it's about are outlined.

| **Add Slide** | A new slide in the presentation's theme, after this one. |
| **Quick Edit** | The words become editable where they are, for the typo spotted in rehearsal. **Done** keeps the change; **Escape** leaves it. |
| **Edit Slide** | Open the slide in the editor. |
| **Inspector…** | Look closely at the pictures, films and sounds on a slide. |
| **Behavior** | For a Media item: **Foreground** or **Background**. See [Media](https://docs.slipity.com/building/media.md). |
| **Enable / Disable** | Take a slide out of the running order for one service without deleting it. |
| **Hot Key…** | One key that brings this slide up. Two slides can't share one. |
| **Go to Next Timer…** | Seconds before moving on by itself, and **Loop to Beginning** to go round again at the end. On a film that doesn't loop, the seconds count from the end of the film. |
| **Add Media…** | A picture or film behind this slide, or a Media item or YouTube video after it. |
| **Add Action** | What happens when the slide goes live. See [Slide actions](https://docs.slipity.com/presenting/slide-actions.md). |
| **Edit Actions**, **Remove Actions** | Change or take off what a slide already does. |
| **Clear** | Take layers off the screens when the slide goes live. |
| **Group**, **Label** | Name a run of slides — Verse 1, Chorus — or one slide. See [Songs](https://docs.slipity.com/building/songs.md). |
| **Themes › New Theme from Selection…** | Make a theme from how this slide looks. |
| **Copy Text Style**, **Paste Text Style** | Give other slides this slide's text formatting. |
| **Cut**, **Copy**, **Paste**, **Delete** | Slides move with everything on them: their group, label, actions, media and timeline. |

> With several slides picked, **Group** puts every one of them in the group, and the slides around them keep theirs. Pick a whole song and choose **Group › None** to take every group off.
