iPad
Held sideways, iPad shows two columns, as the Mac does: the sidebar and preview in one, the slides in the other. Choose which corner the preview sits in under Settings › Appearance › Preview Position. Held upright, it’s one column, and the preview can sit at the Top or Bottom, be Hidden, or Floating in a corner you choose. To capture: iPad in landscape with the preview top-left, and in portrait with a floating preview.
- Apple Pencil draws Live Annotations on the preview.
- External displays and AirPlay act as audience or stage screens. See Connecting screens.
iPhone
Upright, the preview sits at the top or bottom of the slides, or is hidden. Turned on its side, iPhone shows the preview and nothing else — the phone is being used to watch the output. Pinch out on the preview on any iPad or iPhone to make it fill the screen, and pinch in to come back.To capture: iPhone upright with the preview above Amazing Grace.
iPhone Duo
- Closed, the outer screen is laid out like an iPhone, with the toolbar down the side beside the time and camera.
- Open on its side, the inner screen has the iPad’s two columns, and Preview Position chooses the preview’s corner.
- Half open, the fold divides the window: the slides on one half and the preview on the other, with nothing on the crease.
- Open and upright, it’s laid out like an upright iPad.
To capture: iPhone Duo half open, slides on one half and the preview on the other.
Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
While a service runs on iPhone — or the iPhone is a remote for a Mac — a Live Activity shows the slide that’s up, the presentation it’s in and where you are in it, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.Apple Watch
The Slipity Pro app on Apple Watch shows the slide that’s up, large, with the next one below. Tap for the next slide; swipe right for the one before. It works through your iPhone, whether the iPhone is running the service or controlling a Mac.To capture: Apple Watch showing the live slide with the next one below.
