The Audio layer plays music under whatever is on the screens. It doesn’t follow the running order: pre-service music starts before the service, and a bed under a prayer carries on while the slides change above it. Open the Audio panel from the toolbar.

Playlists

Make audio playlists of tracks, and play one from the panel, from a slide (Add Action › Play Audio Playlist), or with Siri and Shortcuts. Tracks cross-fade into each other. What a track does when it finishes is set in Settings › Audio & Video › On Reaching the End: stop, play again, or go on to the next in its list. Next is what pre-service music wants. A single track can be told otherwise from its own menu.

The playing song

Open the playing song large to:
  • scrub through it,
  • jump between its sections — while it plays, clicking a section is a cue: the song finishes the section it’s in and goes on from the one you clicked, the way a band follows a leader,
  • name, split and join sections while it’s stopped,
  • play it in another arrangement: its sections in another order, dragged about, repeated or taken out, without touching the file.

The audio meter

Turn on Display Audio Meter on Preview in Settings › Audio & Video for a stereo meter beside the preview, measuring everything the room hears: music, slide soundtracks and films, after each one’s volume and mute. Show Decibel Marks adds a scale.

Lyric videos

A presentation can play a track and put its slides up at moments in it. See Slide actions › Lyric videos.
